# Creating a role from your ATS

> Create a Ribbon interview using an open job in your connected ATS.

Create a Ribbon interview from an open job in your connected ATS. Ribbon pulls in the job details and generates interview questions and scoring criteria for you to review.

## Before you begin

Make sure your ATS is connected and its initial sync has finished. See [Connecting your ATS](/integrations/connecting-ats).

## Create your role

1. Click **+ New role**, then select **Create from ATS**.
2. Find and select the open job you'd like to use.
3. Click **Generate role**.
4. Review the role and company details, interview questions, and scoring criteria. Customize anything you'd like to change.
5. Choose your interviewer's language and voice, then review the interview settings.
6. On the **ATS** step, confirm the linked job and stage mapping.
7. Preview your interview, then click **Publish role**.

Your Ribbon role is now linked to the ATS job, allowing candidate stages and interview summaries to sync back.

## Can't find your job?

The initial sync can take **20 minutes to 72 hours**, depending on your ATS and the amount of data. Check that the sync has finished and that you have **Team admin** or **System admin** access.
